Security Camera Video Leads To Arrest

On January 17, 2022, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office received a report of Breaking & Entering on Burch Bridge Rd. Burlington, N.C. The victim told Deputies that someone broke into a storage building on his property and stole approximately $350 dollars’ worth of Milwaukee tools. The victim provided Investigators with security camera footage of the incident. Using the footage, Investigators identified Jerry Lynn Coleman as the suspect. Mr. Coleman was arrested the same day and taken to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Traffic Stop Nets Felony Drug Arrest

On Monday January 31, 2022 at 9:59 a.m., Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Deputies conducted a traffic stop for an unsafe movement violation on S. NC 87 near Windsor Dr. south of Graham, N.C. The driver was identified at Stania Payne. During the traffic stop, a K9 Officer on scene gave an alert for positive indication of contraband during an exterior sniff of the vehicle. While conducting a search of the vehicle, Deputies discovered heroin and a pipe.

Ms. Payne was arrested and take to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Passenger Takes Car After Owner Walks Inside A Residence

On Friday January 28, 2022 at 8:23am, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Deputies investigated a report of a stolen vehicle. The reporting party told Deputies that he stopped at a friend’s house and left his passenger, Kristina Renee White waiting in the vehicle. When the victim exited the friend’s residence, Ms. White and the vehicle were gone.

The victim told Deputies that he wanted to press charges.

At approximately 11:30am the same morning, Deputies located Ms. White and the vehicle on N. Graham Hopedale Rd. in Burlington. Ms. White was still in possession of the vehicle. After Deputies questioned Ms. White, she admitted taking the vehicle.

Ms. White was arrested and taken to the Alamance County Jail.

ACSO Charges for Exploitation of the Elderly

For Immediate Release

On Wednesday, December 3, 2021, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit received a report from the Alamance County Adult Protective Services. The report stated that Krystal Hook, daughter of the victims, was stealing money and jewelry from her parents. In addition, she was not providing appropriate care and at times mistreats her parents. 

After an investigation, Ms. Hook was charged with obtaining property by false pretense and exploiting the disabled/elderly and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center where she was given a $20,000 secured bond.

ACSO Charges for Possession of a Stolen Motor Vehicle

For Immediate Release

On January 20, 2022, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit was contacted by the Hall County Sheriff’s Office in reference to a stolen vehicle. The vehicle description was communicated to patrol deputies who conducted a traffic stop on Mt. Hermon Rock Creek Road. The driver, Jeremy John Howard, was identified as the suspect in the larceny from Hall County, Georgia. When deputies attempted to detain him, Mr. Howard resisted but later complied. When the vehicle was searched, drug paraphernalia was also located inside of the vehicle. Mr. Howard was placed under arrest and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

ACSO Charges for Trafficking Heroin

Unfortunately, due to several recent overdose cases, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit and members of the Mebane Police Department began an investigation. As a result, officers conducted a search warrant at 703-C North Summit Ridge Road in Mebane on January 19, 2022.

A search of the apartment yielded 22.43 grams of heroin, over $10,000 in cash, and two firearms. Terrell Devaunquae Layron Goode was taken into custody and charged with the following: Trafficking Heroin, PWIMSD Heroin, Possession of Firearm by Felon, Maintaining a Dwelling, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was given an $85,000 secured bond.

ACSO Charges for Intent to Sell/Deliver a Schedule II Controlled Substance

For Immediate Release

On Thursday, January 20, 2022, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit and the Special Response Team executed a narcotics-related search warrant at 702 Elizabeth Street in Burlington. A search of the residence resulted in 17.93 grams of suspected crack cocaine, a handgun, and several drug paraphernalia items. 

Deputies took Ms. Mary Torain into custody and charged her with possession with intent to sell/deliver a schedule II controlled substance, maintaining a place for the sale of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

ACSO Charges for Assault with Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury

On January 17, 2022, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to 2448 Green Level Church Road in Green Level in reference to a disturbance that resulted in someone being stabbed. When deputies arrived at the scene, they located two people outside of the residence that had been stabbed. Both victims were treated by Alamance County EMS and released. Deputies also detained the suspect, Corey Lamont King, who was inside of the home. Mr. King was charged with two counts of Assault with a Deadly Weapon Inflicting Serious Injury and given a $50,000 secured bond.

ACSO Charges for Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle

On January 11, 2022, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle in progress on Bass Mountain Road in Snow Camp. When deputies arrived, they made contact with the two suspects who said that they were trying to replace a flat tire. One of the suspects, Jeffrey Spears, admitted that he went through a vehicle that was parked in the driveway of the residence. Mr. Spears was also in possession of a small baggie containing a white crystalized substance. He was transported to the Alamance County Detention Center and charged with Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle and Possession of Methamphetamine.

ACSO Charges Felony for Indecent Liberties with a Child

On January 6, 2022, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Human Exploitation Unit responded to a residence in Haw River in reference to a reported indecent liberties incident. It was reported that a minor was touched inappropriately while sleeping by Brian Todd Williams at his residence. 

At the conclusion of the investigation, Mr. Williams was charged with one count of indecent liberties with a child and given a $10,000 secured bond.
