County Man Facing Multiple Charges of Sexual Exploitation of a Minor

Beginning November 2021, Sheriff’s Office investigators assigned to the Human Exploitation Team (HET), a part of the Special Victims Unit (SVU), received a cyber tip regarding an individual uploading child sexual abuse material (CSAM) to social media app, Twitter. Investigators discovered the material was uploaded from a residence at 1349 N NC Highway 87, Elon, NC.

On Wednesday, February 23, 2022, HET and SVU Investigators conducted a search warrant at the residence where electronic devices were seized. After conducting forensic examinations of the devices, it was discovered that Noah Ryan King of the residence, uploaded the CSAM files to Twitter. Mr. King was arrested and charged with multiple counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Mr. King is a suspect in two other cyber tips investigations from 2020.

County Man Charged With Felony Child Abuse

On Thursday, February 24, 2022, Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit received a report of suspected physical abuse inflicted on a 6-year-old child. The report originated from Alamance County Child Protective Services.

During the investigation, it was discovered that the child suffered bruises and welts on the back and arms. Detectives found probable cause to charge Michael Richard Bethea. Mr. Bethea was arrested at his residence on Friday, February 25, 2022 and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Multiple Charges of Indecent Liberties With A Child Against Randolph County Man

Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office Special Victims unit received a report of multiple incidents of indecent liberties with a child occurring in Alamance Co. throughout 2020.

During the investigation, interviews with the victim and the discovery of evidence led Investigators to find probable cause to bring charges against Dustin Lynn Perry of Ramseur.

Mr. Perry was arrested on Thursday, February 26, 2022 and taken to the Alamance County Jail.

Burlington Man Charged With Larceny Of Firearms

On Thursday, December 9, 2021, Deputies received a report of larceny of two (2) firearms from a residence in the 10,000blk of NC 49 Liberty, NC (Alamance County). The reporting party told Deputies the firearms were believed to have been stolen by a house guest.

During the investigation, witnesses and evidence assisted Deputies with developing a suspect.

On Monday, February 21, 2022, Deputies arrested Taezion Pulliam. Mr. Pulliam was taken to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Employee Charged With Larceny and Selling Grave Markers

On Thursday, December 16, 2021, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office received a report of missing grave markers from Alamance Memorial Park. It was reported that approximately 209 new brass grave markers were missing from storage closets.

Investigators determined that no break-in had occurred, turning the focus of the investigation to employees who would have had access to the storage closets. Through interviews, scrap yard records, and security system records, Investigators discovered that head of maintenance, William Allen Shannon Jr., was the suspect.

Mr. Shannon was charged on Tuesday, February 22, 2022 and taken before a magistrate.

One Arrested At United Patriot Party Demonstration In Graham

On Saturday, February 19, 2022, members of the United Patriot Party of North Carolina held a rally at the Historic County Courthouse in Graham. The group had been granted a permit to demonstrate from 12n to 4pm.

During the event, Deputies observed a rally participant walk from the Courthouse to an adjacent corner where a small group of counter-protesters had gathered. Deputies identified the individual as Thomas Lee Jordan.

Mr. Jordan was observed in a verbal engagement with counter-protesters, taking up a fighting stance with fists raised. Because of Mr. Jordan’s actions, Deputies found probable cause for arrest.

Mr. Jordan was transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Green Level Man Charged With Indecent Liberties With A Child

On Thursday, February 3, 2022, Deputies responded to a report of sexual assault on James Boswell Rd., Green Level, NC. While on scene, Deputies requested an Investigator from the Special Victims Unit (SVU). The SVU investigator opened a case of Indecent Liberties with a child.

During the investigation, Denis Arias was identified as the suspect.

On Tuesday, February 15, 2022, Mr. Arias was arrested and transported to the Alamance county Detention Center.

Sex Offender Charged With Three Felonies

On Tuesday, February 8, 2022, Investigators with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit, opened an investigation in reference to a subject who disclosed private images of an adult. During the investigation, the suspect was identified as Antavious Jones. Investigators learned that Mr. Jones, formally of Burlington, is a registered sex offender and was using an incorrect address on the sex offender registry. Mr. Jones also had an online identifier that was not made known to the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office.

On Friday, February 11, 2022, Mr. Jones was in an Alamance County Court where he was arrested and taken to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Mebane Man Gives Deputies False Identity During Domestic Disturbance Investigation

On Saturday February 12, 2022 at 12:03pm, Deputies responded to the 1300blk of Broadwood Acres in Mebane, NC for a Domestic Disturbance call. During the investigation, Deputies interviewed a male subject who was involved in the disturbance. The male subject identified himself by using the name of a person known to him. After further investigation, Deputies learned the true identity of the male subject involved as Andrew Paul Booth.

Deputies further discovered that Mr. Booth had an outstanding warrant for Cyberstalking out of Guilford County.

Mr. Booth was arrested and taken to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Multiple Charges After Man Attempts To Flee Deputies And Crashing Into K9 Patrol Car

On Monday afternoon, February 14th, 2021, Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a motor vehicle which displayed a fictitious North Carolina registration plate. The vehicle was travelling north on N. Church St., near Sellars Mill Rd. in Burlington.

As Deputies activated their blue lights and sirens, the driver fled leading Deputies on a short vehicle pursuit. As the fleeing vehicle approached the intersection of Hyde St. and Sellars Mill Rd., the driver failed to stop at a stop sign, colliding with a Sheriff’s Office K9 vehicle. The collision caused the K9 vehicle to over-turn, resulting in substantial damage. Both the Deputy and K9 were checked on-scene and did not sustain any major injuries. The driver of the fleeing vehicle and two passengers were not injured.

The driver was arrested. Burlington Police Department Officers are investigating the crash.
