Deputy Struck By Fleeing Driver’s Vehicle Suspect Facing Multiple Felonies

On Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at approximately 4 p.m, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit attempted to conduct a traffic stop near the intersection of Bland Blvd. and N. Church St., Burlington, N.C. The driver was identified as Fredrick Dontae Slade.

During the stop, Mr. Slade suddenly attempted to flee in his vehicle. A Deputy was struck by the open driver’s door of Mr. Slade’s vehicle and carried approximately 25 feet. The Deputy entered the moving vehicle and was involved in brief struggle with Mr. Slade. The Deputy was able to gain control of the vehicle, bringing it to a stop and took Mr. Slade into custody. 

The Deputy sustained minor injuries and was treated on scene by EMS.

A search incident to arrest as well as a probable cause search resulted in Deputies locating approximately 11 grams of cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and an automatic handgun. Mr. Slade was taken before a magistrate charged with the following offenses.

Woman Jailed After Fleeing Deputies, Narcotics Possession, Impaired Driving

March 21, 2022

On Sunday March 20, 2022 at 8:40 a.m., Deputies received a ‘Be On The Lookout (B.O.L.O)’ for a careless and reckless driver on NC 54 believed to be traveling from Orange Co. into Alamance Co. It was reported that the vehicle, a White Honda Pilot, had been involved in a traffic accident in Chapel Hill, and ran over multiple mailboxes.

Deputies located the vehicle on NC 54 near NC 119. Deputies attempted a traffic stop, but the driver began to flee. The vehicle turned right on NC 119 heading north. Deputies initiated a motor vehicle pursuit.

During the course of the pursuit, the vehicle was observed driving recklessly, crossing the center line and failing to maintain a constant speed. Deputies stopped the vehicle at NC 119 and Old Hillsborough Rd. near Mebane.

Deputies identified the driver as Lyndsey Anna-Colleen Blevins. Ms. Blevins was observed with a large amount of white powder in her mouth and marijuana on her person. Ms. Blevins was placed under arrest and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

While inside the Detention Center, Deputies located a marijuana smoking bowl containing marijuana in Ms. Blevins’ mouth.

Because of Ms. Blevins’ believed impaired condition, EMS was called to transport her to a local hospital. After treatment, Ms. Blevins was returned to the Alamance County Detention Center.

INMATE ASSAULTS DETENTION OFFICER

On Thursday March 17, 2022, Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Investigators were made aware of assault on a Detention Officer. Detention Officers were attempting to transfer an arrestee identified as Coy Dean Parker, from a pre-booking cell to a holding cell. During the transfer, Mr. Parker assaulted a Detention Officer, causing a cut on the Officer’s arm.

Mr. Parker was in the Detention Center after he was previously convicted of two separate charges of assault on female.

After consulting with the District Attorney’s Office, Mr. Parker was charged with Felony Habitual Misdemeanor Assault.

Snow Camp Man Facing Charged With Indecent Liberties With A Child

On Tuesday March 8, 2022, Sheriff’s Office Detectives with the Special Victims Unit (SVU), received a report of sexual assault which occurred in March of 2021.

During the investigation, Michael Stanton King II was identified as the suspect.

On Wednesday March 16, 2022, the SVU obtained warrants on Mr. King II on four (4) felony charges.

Mr. King II was arrested and was taken to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Grandson Charged With Assault-Fires Shot At Grandmother

On Monday March 14, 2022 at 5:17 p.m., the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office responded to 3733 Clapp Mill Rd., Burlington, NC, (southern Alamance county) in reference to an assault. On arrival, Deputies observed the suspect, Noah Church, actively assaulting his grandmother in the front yard of the residence. Deputies stopped the assault and detained the suspect. The victim suffered minor injuries

During the investigation, it was learned that the suspect had fired a single shot from a high-powered rifle in the direction of his grandmother. No one was hit.

Detectives and Crime Scene Investigators responded to continue the investigation and process the scene.

Mr. Church, was arrested and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Wanted Felon Apprehended During Narcotics Investigation

On Thursday, March 10, 2022, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit worked a narcotics investigation at 839 Rauhut St. Burlington, NC.

During the investigation, Deputies identified Jesse Ray Garner who was known to have outstanding felony warrants. Following a short foot pursuit in a parking lot, Mr. Garner was apprehended.

Mr. Garner was found to be in possession of 2.42 grams of crack cocaine and 5.25 grams of Marijuana.

Mr. Garner was arrested and taken to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Security Video and Social Media Tips Help Deputies Quickly Solve B&E, Larceny and Arson

On Wednesday, March 9, 2022, Triangle Paving and Grading reported a break-in at their business on Huffman Mill Rd. Burlington, N.C.  A work truck belonging to Triangle Paving and Grading, was reported stolen and later found on fire in Guilford County on McConnell Rd. Alamance County Sheriff’s Detectives were able to use security camera footage, along with help from the public, to identify one of the suspects.

This suspect, identified as Joseph Stephens, was arrested on Thursday afternoon March 10, 2022, at his girlfriend’s residence in Whitsett, near the location where the stolen truck was found abandoned and on fire.

This investigation remains on-going.

Two Suspects Jailed On Felony Charges After Multi Agency Investigation

The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office began investigating numerous larcenies of four-wheelers and motorcycles in the fall of 2021. Detectives have worked in conjunction with the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and the Caswell County Sheriff’s Office as these agencies were experiencing similar larcenies.

Alamance County Detectives discovered information on the location of four-wheelers, that were recently stolen in Orange County. On March 8, 2022, Orange County Detectives along with the Danville, Va. Police Department, conducted a search warrant at a residence in Danville. Two four-wheelers stolen in Orange County were recovered. A four-wheeler and motorcycle were recovered which had been stolen in Alamance County.

Two suspects have been charged and are currently in custody.

This investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are possible.

Burlington Man Charged With Felony Child Care in Sex Offender Home

On Friday, March 4, 2022, Investigators with the Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit (SVU), received information from the Burlington Police Department of a possible sex offender violation.

The SVU began investigating the report and identified Rodney Alan Jones as the suspect. It was learned that Mr. Jones was residing at 406 Wildwood Ln. Burlington, NC, which differed from the sex offender registry of 2224 Phibbs Rd. Lot 7 Elon, NC 27244.

It was also learned that two children, not biologically his, were in the care of Mr. Jones which is in violation of the sex offender registry.

Mr. Jones was arrested and transported the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office.

Couple Facing Felony Charges From Traffic Stop

On Friday, March 4, 2022 at 11:19 p.m., Deputies initiated a traffic stop in the 2000blk of N. NC 49 Hwy for an equipment violation. During the stop, Deputies detected the odor of marijuana and conducted a probable cause search.

Deputies located 8.3 grams of cocaine and a firearm which was stolen. Deputies arrested the driver, Nancy Jane Moore and passenger Juan Melqar Gallegos who were transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.
