CrimeStoppers Tip Nets Two Arrests

On Monday April 11, 2022, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit conducted a narcotics investigation at 1500 Roslyn Dr, Burlington, NC.  The investigation began after receiving an anonymous CrimeStoppers tip. 

Later the same day, Investigators conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle being operated by Mr. Craig William Dunn.  A probable cause search was conducted where Mr. Dunn was found to have in his possession, approximately 3.5 grams of suspected crack cocaine and 2.26 grams of marijuana. Deputies discovered that Mr. Dunn had several outstanding warrants with similar charges. Mr. Dunn was taken into custody and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

A follow up investigation after the traffic stop led to the arrest of Amanda Lynn Waddell for several outstanding warrants. Ms. Waddell was also charged with the possession of drug paraphernalia.

Overdose Death-Narcotics Investigation Leads To Arrest

The Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit has been conducting a narcotics investigation on Sunrise Trl. Snow Camp, NC.  This investigation began in March 2022 after a death occurred believed to be caused by an opioid overdose. 

On Sunday April 10, 2022, Investigators conducted a traffic stop with a vehicle occupied by Samuel Gary Raines who is believed to be involved with the overdose death. A probable cause search found Mr. Raines to be in possession of approximately 8 grams of suspected heroin/fentanyl, approximately 1.3 grams of suspected methamphetamine and one dosage unit of Suboxone prescription medication.  Mr. Raines was taken into custody and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Driver Charged With Multiple Felonies After Routine Traffic Stop

On Wednesday April 6, 2022 at 5:01 p.m., Deputies with the Sheriff’s Office Special Operations Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle displaying a fictitious registration. The traffic stop was in the 5400blk of Thompson Mill Rd. in southern Alamance Co.  During the stop, a K9 was utilized and gave a positive alert for contraband. A search of the vehicle was conducted resulting in the discovery 34.18 grams of Methamphetamine.

The driver, Michael Thomas Hickox, was arrested and taken before a Magistrate at the Alamance County Detention Center.

Search Warrant Nets Two Felony Arrests, Third Suspect Wanted

On Wednesday April 6, 2022 the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit conducted a search warrant at 710 Staley St. Burlington NC. As a result, two suspects were arrested with a third suspect facing charges.

Shaundreikas Booker was found to be in possession of 1.51 grams of crack cocaine and 50.36 grams of Marijuana and Terry White was served with two outstanding warrants.

Unsafe Movement Prompts Traffic Stop, Driver In Jail With Multiple Felonies                                

On Wednesday April 6, 2022 at 12:14 a.m., an Alamance County Deputy was driving north on S. Main St. in Graham. The Deputy was behind a white Camry which moved to the center turn lane then suddenly moved back to the travel lane nearly striking the Deputies’ Patrol car.

The Camry turned onto E. Gilbreath St. where the Deputy initiated a traffic stop for unsafe movement. During the stop, the driver presented a fictitious driver license and claimed to be the person on the license. However, the photo on the license was not that of the driver who was later identified as Christian James Yarbor.

During a search incident to arrest, Mr. Yarbor was found to have 1.27 grams of Methamphetamine on his person. It was also learned that Mr. Yarbor was wanted for parole violation for Trafficking Schedule 1 Controlled Substance.

Mr. Yarbor was arrested and taken to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Burlington Woman Charged Twice By Deputies for Stealing Two Cars In Eight Days

On January Sunday 30, 2022, the Sheriff’s Office received a report of a stolen vehicle. The reporting party told Deputies that a female he met online, identified as Kristina White, was the possible suspect. The victim stated the vehicle was taken on January 20, 2022 and later found abandoned in Burlington. The victim further stated that various items had been taken from inside the car.

Throughout the investigation, Kristina Renee White was identified as the suspect. Warrants were taken out for Ms. White’s arrest. Ms. White was previously arrested by Deputies for vehicle larceny which occurred on January 28, 2022.

Deputies served Ms. White with the second warrant after Graham Police brought her to the Detention Center on other charges.

Deputies Respond To Woman’s Screams For Help-Boyfriend Charged With Felonious Restraint

On Tuesday March 29, 2022 at 9:30 a.m., Patrol Deputies were sitting stationary in the parking lot of Five Points Grocery at Carolina Rd. and N. NC 62 north of Burlington. While observing traffic, a white in color Nissan Altima passed the Deputies’ location traveling southbound on N. NC 62 Highway towards the City limits of Burlington, NC. As the Nissan Altima passed by, a female subject was observed leaning out of the passenger side window screaming “Let me out! Let me out.”

Deputies caught up with the Nissan and initiated a traffic stop in the 2200blk on N. NC 62.  Deputies were able to assist and provide aid to the female while an additional Deputy instructed the driver to exit the vehicle.

During the investigation it was learned that the driver, Preston Alan Hall, and his girlfriend were involved in a verbal argument. Deputies learned from the female that the argument began while they were travelling on Altamahaw-Union Ridge Rd. The female told Deputies that she asked numerous times for Mr. Hall to stop the vehicle and let her out but he would not.

As the investigation continued, Deputies took Mr. Hall into custody and transported him to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Multiple Felony Charges Against Graham Man After Routine Traffic Stop

On Friday, March 25, 2022, Deputies assigned to the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Strike Team conducted a traffic license checking station on Sandy Cross Rd near NC 49.

While working the checking station, a vehicle stopped whereby the driver was asked to produce license and registration. The driver of the vehicle told deputies that he is licensed to drive, but he did not have his license with him. As Deputies spoke with the driver, they detected the odor of marijuana from inside the vehicle.

The driver, identified as Ronald Norman Johnson Jr., was detained. Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle and located cocaine, marijuana, drug paraphernalia and a firearm.

Mr. Johnson was arrested and taken to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Green Level Man Charged With Indecent Liberties With A Child

On Thursday, March 10, 2022, Detectives with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit (SVU), received a report of sexual abuse of a child. Throughout the two-week investigation, Detectives identified Mr. David Pedraza Romero as a suspect.

As the investigation continued, Deputies found probable cause to charge and arrest Mr. Romero.

Mr. Romero was taken into custody on Thursday, March 24, 2022 and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Deputy Struck By Fleeing Driver’s Vehicle Suspect Facing Multiple Felonies

On Wednesday, March 23, 2022 at approximately 4 p.m, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit attempted to conduct a traffic stop near the intersection of Bland Blvd. and N. Church St., Burlington, N.C. The driver was identified as Fredrick Dontae Slade.

During the stop, Mr. Slade suddenly attempted to flee in his vehicle. A Deputy was struck by the open driver’s door of Mr. Slade’s vehicle and carried approximately 25 feet. The Deputy entered the moving vehicle and was involved in brief struggle with Mr. Slade. The Deputy was able to gain control of the vehicle, bringing it to a stop and took Mr. Slade into custody. 

The Deputy sustained minor injuries and was treated on scene by EMS.

A search incident to arrest as well as a probable cause search resulted in Deputies locating approximately 11 grams of cocaine, a small amount of marijuana, drug paraphernalia and an automatic handgun. Mr. Slade was taken before a magistrate charged with the following offenses.
