Passenger Charged With Multiple Felonies During Traffic Stop

On Thursday May 5, 2022 at 1:50 p.m., Deputies conducted a routine traffic stop in the 5600blk of Snow Camp Rd. During the stop, a K9 gave positive indication of contraband.

The passenger, identified as Rodney Eric Wade Jr., was found to have several items of contraband including crack-cocaine, marijuana, digital scales and a stolen firearm. It was also discovered that Mr. Wade as wanted by the Burlington Police Department for felony hit and run.

Mr. Wade was arrested and taken to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Routine Traffic Stop Leads To Felony Drug Charge For Randolph County Man

On Wednesday May 4, 2022 at 8:49 p.m., Deputies conducted a routine traffic stop in the 7500 block of S NC 49 Hwy. During the stop, a K-9 on scene gave positive indication of contraband. During a search of the vehicle, Deputies located methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia.

The driver of the vehicle, identified as Brent Joseph Shirland, was arrested and charged with Possession with the Intent to Sell Deliver a Schedule 2 Controlled Substance, and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Mr. Shirland was also served with outstanding orders for arrest from Randolph County.

Woman Arrested After Possessing Drugs Believed To Be Linked To Overdose Death

On Tuesday May 3, 2022, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Street Crimes Unit executed a residential search warrant at 1025 Grace Ave. Burlington, NC.  This investigation began April 30, 2022 when Deputies were called to Stonewall Springs Rd., Burlington, in reference to a possible opioid overdose resulting in the victim’s death.

While searching the residence at 1025 Grace Ave., Deputies seized 3.21 grams of suspected fentanyl, 210 grams of marijuana, 23 dosage units of Alprazolam and 12 dosage units of suboxone. 

Deputies arrested the resident identified as April Dawn Gatewood. Ms. Gatewood was transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

County Man Charged With Accessory After The Fact Of Murder Which Occurred In New York

On April 4, 2022, Deputies with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office were contacted by the Putnam County New York Sheriff’s Office in reference to a missing female, Lori Lynn Campbell. Putnam County Deputies advised that Ms. Campbell was missing and last seen in the company of Dwayne “Doc” Pulliam, a resident of Patterson, New York.

During the investigation, Putnam County Detectives discovered that foul play had occurred and that Lori Lynn Campbell was murdered in New York by Dwayne “Doc” Pulliam.  It was learned that Dwayne “Doc” Pulliam and Gregory “Stone” Garland transported the deceased, Lori Lynn Campbell, to North Carolina.

While in North Carolina, Dwayne “Doc” and Gregory “Stone” Garland met up with Dwayne “Doc” Pulliam’s brother, Ronnie Pulliam of 5058 Mrs. White Lane, Mebane, NC. The trio decided they were going to discard the body.

Ronnie Pulliam drove a separate vehicle while Dwayne “Doc” Pulliam and Gregory “Stone” Garland followed in another vehicle to a location where they buried the body of Lori Lynn Campbell in a shallow grave. During the investigation, Detectives from Putnam County discovered the location of the body and informed Detectives from the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office of the address. The Federal Bureau of Investigation was contacted to assist with the investigation along with the Caswell County and Orange County Sheriff’s Offices.

The body was later recovered and identified as Lori Lynn Campbell.

Mr. Ronnie Pulliam was arrested by the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office and taken to jail.

Haw River Man Charged With False Imprisonment

On Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at 6:30 p.m., Alamance County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a domestic call on Cedar Hill Dr., Haw River, N.C. On arrival, Deputies spoke with a family member who reported that a female and her children were in the home and believed to be in distress.

Deputies attempted to get the female and her boyfriend to exit the residence, but they refused. Based on information gathered and the domestic violence history with the parties involved, Deputies forced entry into the residence.

Deputies located Dustin Wayne Cook who was hiding in a closet.

As the investigation continued, Deputies learned that the female and her two minor children were being held by Mr. Cook against their will and not allowed to leave the residence.

Mr. Cook was arrested and charged with three (3) counts of False Imprisonment and two (2) counts of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Juvenile. Mr. Cook was also served with five (5) outstanding orders for arrest, involving probation violations and failures to appear.

Routine Traffic Stop Sends Passenger To Jail For Possession Of Meth

On Thursday April 21, 2022 12:38 p.m., while on routine patrol on S NC Hwy 87 and Rumley Rd., Deputies observed a white Nissan Altima traveling north following another vehicle too closely. Deputies conducted a traffic stop at Thompson Mill and Mt Herman Rock Creek Rd.

As a Deputy was talking with the driver, a K9 on scene gave positive indication of contraband. Deputies conducted a probable cause search locating .28 grams of methamphetamine in a gold bag belonging to the passenger identified as Heather Marie Toney. Deputies also located various smoking pipes in the gold bag.

Ms. Toney was placed under arrest and taken to the Alamance County Detention Center.

The driver was issued a warning citation.

Interstate Pursuit Ends With Arrest Of Mebane Man

On Wednesday, April 20, 2022 around 4:30 pm, Alamance County Sheriff’s Deputies assisted the Orange County Sheriff’s Office and Mebane Police Department with a vehicle pursuit on I-40 westbound. The driver of the fleeing vehicle was identified as Brandon Martez Allen who was wanted for kidnapping.

Alamance County Deputies joined the pursuit on I-40 west at Hwy 119 in Mebane. Alamance County Deputies successfully ended the pursuit prior to the Huffman Mill Rd exit in Burlington.

Mr. Allen was arrested and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Mr. Allen was charged with Felony Flee to Elude Arrest and Reckless Driving in Alamance County and received a $10,000 secured bond.

Mr. Allen was charged by Orange County Deputies with First Degree Kidnapping, Felony Flee to Elude, Assault on Government Official with Deadly Weapon, Misdemeanor Child Abuse, Assault on Female, Reckless Driving, Driving Wrong Way on Dual Lane, Domestic Violence Protection Order Violation with Deadly Weapon, and Interfering with Emergency Communications. He received no bond for the Orange County charges.

Mr. Clark is wanted by the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, the Burlington Police Department and the Person County Sheriff’s Office on multiple charges of Obtaining Property by False Pretense and Possession of Stolen Goods.

Mr. Clark has two charges from the ACSO for 2cts: Felony Obtaining Property by False Pretenses totaling $23,000.00 taken from Alamance county victims.

Mr. Clark is reportedly a contractor for TC Builders, utilizing this as a way to receive money from victims prior to any work beginning on the victim’s home or completing the work.

Victims have submitted civil processes against Mr. Clark which remain un-served due to his unknown whereabouts.

Bigamy Charged Against County Woman

On February 25th, 2022, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office received a report from a man who claimed his wife married another man while still married to the complainant. The case was assigned to Detectives with the Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit who began an investigation.

During the investigation, it was learned that the suspect, Sue Ann Allison, was legally married to two men at the same time. Both men are Alamance County Residents.

Ms. Allison was charged on April 5, 2022 and taken before a Magistrate at the Alamance County Detention Center.

Woman Charged With Aiding Ex-Husband Elude Arrest

On Thursday April 14, 2022, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office, Special Victims Unit began an investigation at Cross Country Ln, Burlington, N.C., in reference to a wanted convicted felon and sex offender, Tony Joe McKinnon. Mr. McKinnon was last seen in Burlington on April 3, 2022

Investigators interviewed Neva Lynne Guthrie of the residence about her ex-husband, Tony Joe McKinnon. Investigators discovered that that Ms. Guthrie, by her own admission, rendered aid to Mr. McKinnon by sending him money and withholding information of his whereabouts to assist him in eluding law enforcement.

Prior to Ms. Guthrie’s arrest, she had been warned multiple times by Investigators not to aid Mr. McKinnon in eluding law enforcement.  

Ms. Guthrie was arrested and taken to the Alamance County Detention Center.
