On Friday July 15th 2022, Deputies responded to a report sexual assault in the 1200 block of N. Graham Hopedale Rd., Burlington, N.C. While on scene, Deputies detained the suspect identified as Eric Ivan Guevara Requeno. During the investigation, Deputies established probable cause to arrest the Mr. Requeno.

On Friday morning July 15,2022 at 7:09 A.M., Deputy’s responded to Best Trl. (south of Graham) in reference to a call of trespassing and harassment. The caller stated that the he had reason to believe that a nearby neighbor trespassed on his property during the night and had placed unwanted signage along the victim’s driveway. The victim stated that the suspect, identified as Jon William Iburg, has been previously trespassed from his property.
Deputies drove to Mr. Iburg’s home to continue the investigation. During the investigation, it was determined that Mr. Iburg did trespass on his neighbor’s property in violation of a court order. Mr. Iburg was arrested and taken to the Alamance County Detention Center.
On Tuesday May 12, 2022, Deputies took a report of fraud from the Alamance County Historical Museum. The reporting party for the Museum stated that when he received the Museum’s April 2022 bank statement, he noticed three fraudulent charges. Two of the charges were in the form of checks made out for $4,800.78 each and the other was a VISA internet payment for $2,584.55.
Throughout the investigation, Deputies learned that the checks were mobile deposited through the bank. Working with the bank, Deputies discovered that the VISA card belonged to Jennifer Renee Johnson, formally from Alamance County. Ms. Johnson has been living in South Carolina.
As the investigation continued, it was learned that Ms. Johnson had a check made out for $4,800.78 mobile deposited into her account on April 7, 2022. That transaction was stopped by the bank before posting. It was also discovered that Ms. Johnson’s VISA card had multiple internet payments placed on the card from April 7, 2022 thru May 24, 2022 totaling $25,406.38. The museum was the victim of two of these transactions during this period totaling $5,583.73.
Ms. Johnson returned to Alamance County on July 7, 2022 where she was arrested and booked into the Alamance County Detention Center.
This case remains under investigation with more charges possible.

On Monday July 11, 2022 at 5:25 p.m., Deputies responded to the Graham-Mebane Lake to assist with a water rescue. A man was reportedly in the water and in distress. On arrival, Deputies were informed that the man was out of the water and seen running along Bason Rd. near Chapel Trl.
Deputies re-located to the area of Bason Rd. and Chapel Trl. attempting to locate the subject. While in the area, at 5:30 p.m., Deputies received a report of a stolen tractor from a resident on Chapel Trl. A short time later, the tractor was found in the 2800 block of Green Level Church Rd., crashed into trees.
While on scene with the damaged tractor, Deputies received a call of a suspicious person at 2648 E. Simpson Rd., Green Level. On arrival, Deputies found the suspect, identified as Joshua Phillip Smithey, inside a residence which he had broken into. Witnesses told Deputies that Mr. Smithey had also broken into a car and was seen going through the contents of the vehicle. The owner of the vehicle did not wish to prosecute.
Deputies arrested Mr. Smithey and transported him to the Alamance County Detention Center.
On Tuesday July 12, 2022 at 12:15 p.m., Western Middle School went on lockdown at the order of the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office.
At 12:04 p.m., Deputies responded to a Domestic Disturbance at the Holly Tree Mobile Home Park, 2235 N. N.C. 87 Hwy., Elon, N.C. near Western Middle School. On arrival, Deputies saw Jimmy Wayne Himmelheber run from the residence to a wooded area and across school property. Mr. Himmelheber was ordered to stop but continued to flee. Deputies immediately placed the school in lockdown.
It was learned that the suspect is wanted for felony probation violation in Edgecombe County, N.C.
No weapons were involved and no staff or students came in contact with the suspect.
A Sheriff’s Office K9 was called to the scene and started a track. The track was lost in a wooded arear near the Haw River at 1:13 p.m.
The lockdown was lifted at 1:22 p.m.
Western Middle School is currently conducting summer school for middle and high school students. Approximately 120 students and staff were in the school.
Mr. Himmelheber is described as a white male with dark hair in a pony tail wearing a grey shirt, black camo pants with red shoes. If located, call 911.

On Friday July 8, 2022 at 8:23 p.m., Deputies responded to a report of trespassing and disturbance at 764 Walker Rd., Elon, N.C. The occupants of the residence stated that the suspect, identified as Laura Capps, was trespassing and swinging a machete at the victim. Deputies verified that Ms. Capps is trespassed from the residence. It was also learned that Ms. Capps entered the victim’s vehicle and attempted to flee prior to the arrival of Deputies.
Deputies located Ms. Capps near the residence and inside the victim’s vehicle. Ms. Capps was detained and the machete was secured. Ms. Capps was taken into custody and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

On Friday June 10, 2022, Special Victims Unit (SVU) Investigators received a report of kidnapping and sex offenses against two juvenile victims. Investigators interviewed a juvenile who stated that both were victims of several sex offenses and were held against their will in Alamance County by the suspect on May 13, 2022.
SVU Investigators along with assistance from the Sheriff’s Office Human Exploitation Team, identified the suspect as Edwin Silva-Badillo. A warrant was taken out for Mr. Silva-Badillo’s arrest.
With the assistance of the Chatham County Sheriff’s Office, Mr. Silva-Badillo was arrested Thursday June 30, 2022 at his residence and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

On Tuesday June 28, 2022 at 3:56 p.m., Deputies responded to a disturbance at 2665 Albert Jeffries Rd. Burlington which was reported to have involved gunshots during a family gathering. There were no injuries.
On arrival, Deputies were unable to locate any suspects or victims. County Communications notified Deputies that a caller reported a black Camaro had left the scene heading towards N.C. Hwy 49. The vehicle was later located in the 1500blk of N. NC 49 near Green Level and found to have been struck by gunfire.
As the investigation continued at 2665 Albert Jeffries Rd., witnesses stated that two individuals were involved in the shooting. The individuals were identified as Kendrick Eugene Sellars, Jr. and Brandon Marcel Bryant. Both allegedly shot at one another and fled. While on still scene at Albert Jeffries Rd., Deputies located Mr. Bryant and a gray Honda Pilot which had been struck by gunfire.
Mr. Bryant was placed under arrest and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center. Later the same day, Mr. Sellars turned himself in to Deputies. He was arrested and booked him into the Alamance County Detention Center.
The investigation is ongoing to determine what prompted the shooting.

In November of 2020, the Sheriff’s Office Human Exploitation Team (HET), received a report that an individual was luring an Alamance County juvenile into creating self-inappropriate videos on social media. During the month’s long investigation, the Human Exploitation Team identified Blake Allen Arabie of Lake Charles, Louisiana as the suspect.
On March 14, 2022, a warrant for Mr. Arabie’s arrest was obtained by HET Investigators who then requested apprehension assistance from the U.S. Marshals Service. On April 27, 2022, U.S. Marshals along with the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office located Mr. Arabie.
During an attempted apprehension, Mr. Arabie fled in his vehicle to his residence. Once inside the residence, a standoff ensued. Approximately 30 minutes after the standoff began, Mr. Arabie exited his residence with a firearm which he used to shoot himself in the leg in an attempt to evade incarceration. The wound was non-life threatening.
After medical treatment in the hospital, Mr. Arabie was taken into custody by the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office. Mr. Arabie was later extradited to the Alamance County Detention Center on June 25, 2022.

On Wednesday June 22, 2022 at 8:48 p.m., Deputies responded with EMS and Fire to a report of an overdose at N.C. 119 and Mebane Rogers Rd. near Mebane. On arrival, Deputies and emergency responders found an unconscious female behind the wheel of a vehicle in the intersection.
Firefighters entered the vehicle to render medical aid. The female instantly awakened and was observed to be disoriented. EMS personnel checked the female’s vitals and deemed her to be ok.
Deputies observed drug paraphernalia in the vehicle and detected a strong odor of what was believed to be marijuana. A probable cause search was conducted where multiple bags of white powdery substance were found including a bag of marijuana.
The driver, identified as Chelsey Mychelle Rhew, was arrested and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.
