Mother Facing Abduction Of Child and Violation Of Domestic Violence Order

On Friday, December 16, 2022 at 5:49 p.m., Deputies responded to the 2500 block of Ossipee Front St., Elon, N.C., in reference to an assault. On arrival, the victim stated that the mother of his children came to the residence an attempted to remove the children.

The victim prevented the mother, Candice Rachelle Miles, from removing the children. Ms. Miles is under an active domestic violence protective order. The victim also stated that Ms. Miles was dragging one of the children from the house. After the child broke free, Ms. Miles assaulted the victim and fled the scene.

At 9:45 p.m., Deputies located Ms. Miles at a residence in the 1300 block of north N.C. 87 Hwy., Elon, N.C. Ms. Miles was placed under arrest and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Forty-One Pounds of Marijuana Seized After Brief Chase

On Friday, December 15, 2022 at 12:45 a.m., Deputies attempted to conduct a traffic stop for a stop light violation. The driver of the vehicle attempted to elude Deputies by failing to stop for a blue light and siren.

The driver struck a sidewalk/curb which disabled the vehicle. The driver, identified as Jarian Holman, attempted to flee on foot and was quickly apprehended. 

A passenger, Michael Garcia, tried walking away from the traffic stop and was apprehended after resisting arrest. Two other passengers of the vehicle were detained and did not attempt to flee. 

Deputies conducted a search of the vehicle where they located 41 lbs. of marijuana.  

All four occupants were arrested and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Sex Offender Arrested After Report Of Disturbance

On Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 9:05 p.m., Deputies responded to a disturbance call in the 2800 block of Lowe Rd. north of Elon, N.C. While on scene, Deputies were unable to determine that a disturbance had occurred.

During the investigation, Deputies discovered that one of the individuals, alleged to have been involved in the disturbance, was a registered sex offender with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office. It was also discovered that the suspect, Amanda Jean Principe, was in violation of failing to register an identifier for using social media. Ms. Principe was previously charged with the same offense.

On Tuesday, December 13, 2022 at 12:56 a.m., Ms. Principe was booked into the Alamance County Detention Center and has since posted bond.

County Man Charged With Felony Obtaining Property By False Pretense

On Thursday, September 1, 2022, Deputies took a report of fraud from the victim who came to the Sheriff’s Office. The victim stated that in June, 2022, she had hired Jarrell Daye to assist her with leasing an apartment. She stated that she paid Daye $1250.00 dollars for his assistance with the application and the first month’s rent.

After a period of time, and telling the victim that her application was pending, Mr. Daye ended all communications including unanswered calls and no response to text messages.

After reviewing documents and copies of communications between the victim and Mr. Daye, a warrant was obtained charging Mr. Daye with Obtaining Property under a False Pretense. Mr. Daye turned himself in on Monday, December, 12, 2022.

Couple Charged With Felony Larceny-One Suspect On The Run

On Monday, December 5, 2022 Deputies responded to a report of larceny of a Polaris four-wheeler, from the owner’s property in the 2000 block of McCray Rd. The four-wheeler was stolen sometime between November 14th and the date it was reported, December 5, 2022.

Deputies issued a B.O.L.O (Be On the Lookout) to Law Enforcement. As the investigation continued, Detectives identified two suspects believed to be involved in stealing the ATV.

On Thursday, December 8, 2022, warrants were obtained charging Anthony Decarlo Pulliam, and Arvestella Tyonda Thompson with larceny. On Friday, December 9, 2022, Mr. Pulliam turned himself in to Detectives

Former County Resident Facing Charges Of Sexual Assault On A Child

On Thursday August 25, 2022, Special Victims Unit Detectives began an investigation of Sexual Assault of a child. The victim alleged that the sexual assaults occurred on three different occasions in 2010 and 2011.

During the investigation, Detectives obtained felony warrants for Mr. Manuel Abraham Zelaya Hernandez. Since the alleged sexual assault, Mr. Zelaya Hernandez is currently residing in Harris County, Texas. With the assistance of the Harris County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit, Mr. Zelaya Hernandez was arrested on December 6, 2022.

Mr. Hernandez is currently under extradition orders and will be returned to Alamance County.

Argument Over Money Leads To Son’s Assault On His Father

On Tuesday November 29, 2022 at 12:52 a.m., Deputies responded to a 911 call of an assault in the 5900 block of Snow Camp Rd. The 62-year-old caller advised that his son had punched the caller in the face and cut his head.

On arrival, Deputies made contact with the suspect, identified by the victim and a witness to the incident, as Johnathan Wayne Andrews of the same residence.

The victim stated he was assaulted by his son’s fist, a wooden table and a metal dog bowl. The victim also stated that while attempting to call 911, the suspect took the phone away from the victim.

Mr. Andrews was arrested and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

County Man Faces Rape and Assault by Strangulation Charges

On Tuesday November 8, 2022, Investigators with the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit (SVU), began investigating a report of sexual assault. Investigators were informed that the victim was allegedly forced to engage in sexual acts. Investigators also were informed that the victim was allegedly assaulted by strangulation.

As the investigation continued, probable cause was found to charge the suspect identified as Austin Neal Gwynn. Mr. Gwynn was arrested on Monday November 21, 2022 and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Mother and Boyfriend Charged After Sexual Assault With Child Investigation

On Thursday September 15, 2022, the Special Victims Unit opened an investigation of sexual assault with a child.  Detectives, working with the Department of Social Services, were told by the victim that Robert David King, Jr., identified as boyfriend of the victim’s mother, assaulted the victim four to five times. The victim also stated that Christy Jeannine Deanese, identified as the victim’s mother, was told of the assaults but did not believe the victim. Ms. Deanese admitted to Detectives of being made aware of the assaults but failed to report them.

On Wednesday November 16, 2022, Detectives conducted a final case review with the Alamance County District Attorney’s Office. Felony warrants were then granted and served on Mr. King and Ms. Deanese. Both were arrested and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Trio Facing Multiple Felony Drug Charges

On Wednesday November 2, 2022, the Alamance County Street Crimes/Spec Ops Unit conducted a routine traffic stop on Chapel Hill Rd. at Maple Ave. in Burlington. The driver was identified as David Allen Tromp. During the course of the stop, a K-9 was deployed for an outer open-air sniff of the vehicle and gave positive indication of contraband.

A probable cause search was conducted where Deputies found 21 dosage units of suspected pressed fentanyl pills, methamphetamine, and miscellaneous drug paraphernalia. Mr. Tromp was charged and arrested.

During the search, Deputies located items belonging to Clay Edgar Williamson had been a passenger in the vehicle and was dropped off at court prior to the traffic stop. Suboxone strips were located in Mr. Williamson’s personal items. Investigators decided to open an investigation of Mr. Williamson’s suspected narcotics activities as a result of finding contraband in his personal effects. He would later be served with a warrant.

Mr. Tromp was transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

As the investigation continued, Deputies secured a warrant for Mr. Williamson. On Friday November 11, 2022, Mr. Williamson was located in the parking lot of an Auto Parts store in Graham with his associate, Terry Vaughn Black II.

While serving the warrant, a K-9 was utilized for an open-air sniff of Mr. Williamson’s vehicle where a positive indication of contraband was detected. During a probable cause search of the vehicle, Mr. Williamson was found to be in possession of 1.81 grams of suspected fentanyl.

The K-9 also conducted an open-air sniff of Mr. Black’s vehicle with a positive indication of contraband.

A probable cause search was conducted where Deputies located a glass smoking pipe and .01 grams of methamphetamine in Mr. Black’s vehicle. Both suspects were arrested and charged.

A search warrant was obtained and served at Mr. Williamson’s residence. During the search, Investigators found 4.33 grams of fentanyl and 8 dosage units of suspected pressed fentanyl pills.
