Alamance County Sheriff’s Office Responds to Gunshot Wound Victim

On Saturday, February 6, 2021, at approximately 7:30 PM, the Alamance County Sheriff’s Office responded to Altamahaw Church Street in Elon in reference to a gunshot wound victim. Once on scene, Sheriff’s Office deputies determined that the victim was deceased. The victim was identified as 19-year-old Colby Dillon Bradley.
After a preliminary investigation, it was determined that a 15-year-old juvenile unintentionally discharged a Mosin-Nagant 7.62x54R bolt-action rifle that belonged to the victim. According to witnesses who were present, the juvenile was examining the rifle and believed the weapon was clear. The victim then entered the room and grabbed the rifle. When the juvenile attempted to pull the rifle away, the trigger was pressed which discharged the weapon.
According to the District Attorney, the juvenile will be charged with Involuntary Manslaughter.

On Wednesday January 27, 2021 at 8:32 a.m., Alamance County Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a report of a ‘suspicious vehicle’ at a residence in the 1400 block of Kirkpatrick Rd. Burlington, N.C.
While clearing the residence, Deputies found Branigan Lee Aldridge and Brooke Renee Busch inside. Upon further investigation, it was determined that Mr. Aldridge and Ms. Busch had broken into the residence.
No property was reported missing. It was also determined the vehicle belonged to Ms. Busch.
Both were taken into custody and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.
