Wake County Man Facing Felony Sex Charges With Minor
On Tuesday morning, August 6, 2024 at 3:49 a.m., Patrol Deputies responded to a ‘suspicious vehicle’ call at the intersection of Northrop Dr. and Solstice Dr. in southeast Alamance County. On arrival, Deputies discovered two subjects in the vehicle. The driver was identified as Chase Alexander Vines, age 22, and a female, age 14.
During the investigation Deputies learned of alleged inappropriate sexual activities believed to have occurred in the vehicle. Deputies placed Mr. Vines under arrest and transported him to the Alamance County Detention center. Mr. Vines was charged with 1ct: felony indecent liberties with a minor and 1ct: misdemeanor contributing to the delinquency of a child.
Mr. Vines was taken before the Magistrate and given a $50,000.00 secured bond.
As the investigation continued, Detectives learned that the 14-year-old female was allegedly sexually assaulted by Mr. Vines. Detectives were informed that the alleged sexual assault occurred in the vehicle prior to the arrival of Patrol Deputies at Northrup Dr. and Solstice Dr.
Detectives were able to establish probable cause to charge Mr. Vines with 1ct: of felony statutory rape. Mr. Vines was again taken before the Magistrate and given no bond.
Mr. Vines first court appearance was later the same day, August 6, 2024, where he was given a $5,000 unsecured bond and released from custody.
