Former County Employee And Family Charged With Multiple Felonies
On Friday, June 14, 2024, Detectives in the Sheriff’s Office Major Crimes Unit began an investigation of embezzlement believed to have involved an Alamance County employee. Detectives discovered multiple purchases were made using Alamance County Government credit cards. Detectives developed reason to believe the purchases were for personal gain whereby probable cause was established to charge former county employee Tracy Smith Perry. Detectives also found probable cause to charge Ms. Perry’s husband and daughter for their alleged involvement.
On Monday, July 22, 2024, Major Crimes Unit Detectives arrested both Tracy Smith Perry, and William Walter Perry. The Perry’s daughter, Kaycee Marie Perry, was arrested on Tuesday, July 23, 2024.
Detectives have located and seize some property believed to have been purchased with the county credit card.
