Felony Possession Of Heroin Charged After Overdose

On Tuesday, January 17, 2023 at 12:05 a.m., Deputies, Haw River Police and EMS responded to an overdose call in the 2300 block of U.S. 70 HWY., Mebane, N.C. Once on scene, Officers found the patient to be unconscious. A Haw River Police Officer administered one dose of NARCAN moments prior to the arrival of EMS. The patient regained consciousness and was evaluated by EMS. The patient was not transported to the hospital.

During the investigation, Deputies discovered that the individual had overdosed on heroin given by Isabelle Ann Lucas who was visiting the patient. Deputies located cellophane baggies of white powdery substance in plain view inside the residence that were claimed by Ms. Lucas.

Ms. Lucas was arrested and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Deputies Apprehend Wanted Felon At Residence In Eastern Alamance County

On Sunday, January 15, 2023 at 2:10 a.m., Deputies received information that a wanted person, Lacy Ross Childress, was at a residence in the 3200 block of Calloway Dr., Mebane, N.C.

While en route, Central Communications advised that Mr. Childress, a convicted felon, was reportedly in possession of a firearm.  Communications also confirmed that Mr. Childress had two outstanding warrants for arrest and was entered in the National Crime Information Center as wanted for parole violation.

On arrival, Deputies located Mr. Childress on the front porch of the residence where he was taken into custody. Deputies found a firearm on Mr. Childress’ person along with a glass smoking pipe. 

Mr. Childress was transported to the Alamance County Detention Center where he was served with two outstanding warrants for Felony Larceny and Misdemeanor Assault on a Female.

Mother of Sexual Assault Victim Charged With Obstructing Justice

On Friday, January 13, 2023, the Alamance County District Attorney’s Office notified the Sheriff’s Office that Christy Jeannine Danese violated pre-trial release conditions stemming from charges against her from November 2022. Ms. Danese was granted pre-trial release December 15, 2022.

On November 17, 2022, Ms. Danese and her boyfriend, Robert David King, Jr., were booked into the Alamance County Detention Center following an investigation of Sexual Assault of a Child. The victim is the child of Ms. Danese.

According to the DA’s Office, Ms. Danese made efforts to produce falsified documents and coerce the victim into changing statements in this case.

Ms. Danese was arrested and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Both Ms. Danese and Mr. King remain incarcerated in the Alamance County Detention Center.

Step-Father Charged With Felony Child Abuse and Felony Assault by Strangulation

On Tuesday, January 10, 2023, Sheriff’s Office Special Victims Unit (SVU) Investigators took a report of child abuse. Investigators learned that two juveniles, 12 and 13 years old, displayed signs of bruising and marks on their bodies consistent with that of a beating.

The children reported that their step-father, identified as Jimmy Ray Brafford, had punished them for not performing their chores to his satisfaction. Mr. Brafford reportedly fled the residence and was later apprehended by the Caswell County Sheriff’s Office at his parent’s home in Caswell County.

Mr. Brafford was taken into custody by Alamance County SVU Investigators and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

While in custody, Mr. Brafford has been served with Domestic Violence Protection Orders.

Barricaded Green Level Man Facing Sexual Assault, Kidnapping and Strangulation Charges

On Thursday, January 5, 2022 at approximately 1:00 a.m., Deputies responded to 2111 N. N.C. 49 Hwy., Green Level, N.C., to a fight in progress. On arrival, Deputies were told by neighbors, that Francisco Gomez Aquayo was fighting with neighbors who were trying to stop him from assaulting a female. The neighbors also stated that Mr. Aquayo was armed with a baseball bat.

Prior to the arrival of Deputies, Mr. Aquayo barricaded himself in his residence, refusing to come out.

A search warrant was then obtained to search Mr. Aguayo’s residence for the baseball bat that was seen and described by witnesses and the female victim.

After obtaining a search warrant, and because of Mr. Aguayo’s violent nature, the Sheriff’s Office Special Response Team (SRT), served the warrant. Mr. Aquayo surrendered without incident.

As the investigation continued, it was learned that Mr. Aquayo allegedly assaulted the female both sexually and physically.

Mr. Aquayo was charged and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.

Chapel Hill Woman Facing Multiple Charges After Routine Traffic Stop                   

On Tuesday, January 3, 2023 at 6:05 p.m., Deputies conducted a routine traffic stop in the 1700 blk of Whites Kennel Rd., south of Burlington, N.C. Deputies observed the vehicle was being driving with an expired registration.

As Deputies approached the vehicle, drug paraphernalia was observed in plain view inside the vehicle. A subsequent search yielded suspected crystal methamphetamine, marijuana and marijuana paraphernalia, paraphernalia other than for marijuana, and a handgun which had been unlawfully concealed. Additional open containers of alcohol were also located in the vehicle.

The driver, identified as Angela Merrie Bailey, was arrested and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.
