Daughter of Victim and Daughter’s Boyfriend Charged With Exploitation Of Elderly Person
On Tuesday, July 26, 2022, Special Victims Unit (SVU) Detectives opened an investigation following a report of fraudulent transactions from bank account of the reporting party’s 78-year-old mother. Detectives learned the transactions occurred from April 2021 through June 2022 while the victim was in and out of the hospital. The reporting party took over guardianship of his mother an discovered the funds missing.
As the investigation continued, two suspects were developed. Nancy Ann Minor, daughter of the victim and her boyfriend, Nicholas James Weaver Jr. SVU Detectives learned that Ms. Minor and Mr. Weaver were living in the victim’s residence during the time the funds went missing.
Detectives discovered multiple fraudulent charges on two of the victim’s debit and credit cards totaling over $20,000.
On Tuesday, January 31, 2023, both Ms. Minor and Mr. Weaver Jr. were arrested and transported to the Alamance County Detention Center.
